Twitter Attack
How it all began…
Twitter hasn’t been around very long. It started getting big in the year of 2008 when internet marketers and those working from home discovered its secret. At first, Twitter appeared to be a friend-tool in which people update their status to let others know what they are doing. Many people starting putting website and affiliate links in their status and now Twitter is used for 90% advertising. When internet users found this out, Twitter sky-rocketed! It’s global traffic ranking using Alexa.com used to be around 10,000 near the end of 2007. Within four months it reached rank 1,000. From March to april 2009 it rose from 300 to around rank 40! Twitter just keeps becoming more and more popular. I doubt even Twitter saw this coming. Imagine taking your eyes off a website for a few months and seeing it increase traffic by 10,000%. This is how the management team at Twitter felt. There are now thousands of different site tools that use Twitter to expand themselves. Twitter is the future, Twitter is the new marketing home.
Does does it work?
The big question is: how does it work? When you login into your account on Twitter.com there is a text box on your homepage where you update your status and all of your followers will get the message. How is this useful? People that follow you are interested in your life or work. There are blog owners with follower lists of over 50,000. that means when they leave a message on Twitter, 50,000 people will read it. They are blatently using Twitter to get more readers, sales, etc. If someone wants to leave a specific person a message, they’ll write “@twittername Hey look at this sick product www.productlink.com”. It’s really that simple. The Twitter website even has somewhat of a community to find people to start following. There is an updated list whenever you go back to related people that you’re following or are following you. Twitter seems so simple yet there is so much we still don’t know about it.
Who is using Twitter?
When Twitter started becoming big, mainly blog owners, webmasters and people wanting to promote their products used it. They would post many more than thirty times daily. Those people would go to their website or check out the product they’re promoting. Now, everyone uses it…literally! I’ve seen famous athletes on there, music artists, and just everyday people like you and me. For example, I’ll use Tony Hawk. His URL is http://twitter.com/tonyhawk. He’s on TV everyday and all over the internet. He’s even retired! His follower list exceeds 1 million. Yes, I said it. 1,000,000+ followers. And he’s an ex-professional skateboarder. By just looking on his last posts he’s promoting websites and products himself! I see his number one priority is about “http://www.tonyhawkfoundation.org/”. About 33% of his status updates are about that specific website. He’s also using Digg, cloaking URLs, etc. Tony Hawk is what I like to call a leader. People follow him. As you see he is only following about 100 people. Roughly, for every 10,000 people following him, he follows one of them. Let’s look at another example, John Chow. Currently he has about 53,000 followers. He is a blogger. It looks like a pretty decent list. Over half of his updates are promoting his website or a partner site. Look how many people he’s following. Roughly 50,000 people. I call him a dreamer. He follows thousands of people and hopes for them to follow him back. People who aren’t well known do this. All they care about is advertising to tons of people. It isn’t even targetted if you look closely. Half of his people don’t even use Twitter anymore. There are golf lovers, UFC fans, etc. I’d say about 30% of his follower list are people actually interested in his work. The other 70% are following him because he simply followed them first. It’s an act of curtousy. Everyone uses Twitter, it will continue to grow and grow.
How is Twitter Promoting Garbage Websites?
There are two main ways Twitter is promoting garbage websites. There are thousands of people using programs like TweetAdder.com to auto-follow thousands of people per day. Then those people follow the curtousy law to follow them back. Then there are the community websites like TweeterAdder.com which has over 150,000 members. These websites basicly consist of a single page where people just click follow hundreds of times and then they’ll be on other users pages to follow. These sites cash in because people want advantages so they sign up as a premium user. A single day of being VIP costs a whopping $8.00, a single month is $100.00. These websites are adding thousands of untargetted followers to our list. It’s dishonest. The followers probably have updates off because they only want people following them. They couldn’t care less about what others thought. The only honest way to get targetted followers is to actually take time to go on blogs and other websites and looking at their content. Then follow them. Going down a list of random people and following 100 people within a minute won’t get you anywhere! There are tons of people damaging Twitter.

Twitter And Security
Twitter has been variously described as a social networking site, a micro blogging tool, and a real-time information network. Whatever it is called, it is a phenomenon that has taken the world by storm. Whether you are a hardcore Twitter aficionado, or just contemplating signing up, this article details important facts about Twitter and security that you should know.
How Twitter Works:
Users who sign up for an account on the website are presented with a dialog box captioned, “What’s happening?” Users can enter anything they like in this box, which has a limit of 140 characters. Users can also search for other people on the service and opt to “follow” them.
Following a person will allow you to view their latest status updates. These status updates are referred to as tweets or twits. Similarly, you have the option of following people to keep abreast of the latest they have to say.
Uses Of Twitter:
The simplicity of Twitter means that it can be used for virtually anything at all. Naturally, this implies that different twits will be of varying usefulness. Besides, tweets will be of varying value to different followers, based on their interests and preferences.
These caveats apart, Twitter has appealed to thousands of people. People use it to keep in touch with the latest in the lives of their family and friends, fans use it to follow their favorite stars, and it is also used to share breaking news. This may come in the form of routine tech news or financial market updates from experts or the more extraordinary updates such as victims of an on-going terrorist attack.
Security Concerns:
One of the key elements in the success of Twitter has been its simplicity. However, this same factor allows for people’s Twitter accounts to grow to massive proportions, with hundreds of users followed and just as many following back.
With so many people tweeting, the potential for abuse of sensitive or personal information is huge. In fact, there have been quite a few security lapses in the history of the service. Although Twitter offers the option of classifying users into lists and allows posting twits to specific lists, this is still not full proof security.
Several users felt the need for a method to protect their tweets so that only selected followers will be able to view. This is now possible thanks to a nifty little tool named Redtwit. This is a third-party application that serves as a great security add-on for Twitter.
It allows you to assign passwords to tweets from your existing Twitter account. These password-protected twits are then cyphered using sophisticated encryption making them completely private and secure. You can share the decryption password with as many people as you want. This allows only those people to decode and view the content of your secure tweets.
In addition to offering security, Redtwit also allows users to keep track of all their twits. Unlike Twitter timeline, where old messages can easily get buried and hard-to-find, Redtwit’s comprehensive tracking allows users to keep tabs on their messages and delete them.
Redtwit is the simplest and most user-friendly method of enhancing security for tweets. Just try out their 30-second registration process to get a Redtwit account and secure your twits. For more information, visit redtwit.com.
Twitter And Charlie Davies-Sends My Family Into Sadness
For those who are unaware, the US soccer team secured a spot to compete in the FIFA World Cup 2010 in Africa. Last night, they secured a higher seed with a come from behind tie to Costa Rica. This week has been a difficult week for the US team when news broke about striker Charlie Davies suffering many injuries in an early morning car accident that left one person dead.
Davies suffered two broken bones in his leg, a lacerated bladder, face fractures and a messed up elbow. Not good news for a soccer player. Especially wasn’t good news for the US team who dependent on Davies for more than just points.Davies has an energy about him. If anyone ever met him, they could not help to smile. How do I know this? One word: Twitter. My family has followed Davies on Twitter for the last few months. We laughed at the videos of him teaching teammates how to do the “stanky leg.” We felt at home as he showed pictures of his home in France. When not playing on the US team, he plays for FC Sochaux in France. We laughed with him when he posted the picture of David Beckham checking out a cheerleader and getting caught by his wife.We even felt like part of the team. His last post was a picture of the guys on the bus. Therefore, when news broke of his wreck, we were a little saddened. Not just because of the amount of talent he possesses, but because we felt that we knew him. Twitter has a knack for doing that, making people seem more personable. It was only inevitable that his name would come up at dinner prayer time.”Tick Tock Goes The Clock. Now It is Time To Pray. Thank You God For Our Food. Please Make Paw Paw Sonny Frank feel better. Please Make Bubba Get Better,” my cute little four year old girl said.”Don’t forget about Charlie Davies,” the eight year old future professional soccer player whispered to his sister.”I don’t know what happened,” she whispered back.”He was in a wreck,” he whispered back.”Please God give him a new car,” she responded.I think Davies would have got a kick out of that. He seems to always have a great sense of humor. We could not help but laugh after feeling down after the news.I am sure he also laughed as the US Team beat Coast Rica team in the final seconds or watching the post game antics of his team. I am sure he couldn’t help but shake his head and chuckle at goalie Tim Howard taking a cowboy hat from a fan to walk around the field. He had to be moved as his team and fans paid tribute to him throughout the game with a minute of silence during the ninth minute or the endless banners or accolades to Davies. We still do not know why Davies was out after curfew or even what caused the one car accident. I am not sure if it really matters at this point. We do know that we will miss one of the greatest players at the World Cup.An email has been set up for fans to send messages to Davies, charliedavies9@yahoo.com. Be sure to let him know that as Americans, we love him and hope he gets better soon. He has a long road of recovery. They are printing out the messages and taking them into the hospital daily.
Twitter All a-Twitter U.S. Government Subpoenas Twitter, Should Twitter Protect
Twitter All a-Twitter U.S. Government Subpoenas Twitter, Should Twitter Protect Free Speech
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – It’s come to this, as we knew it eventually would. The U.S. District Court in Virginia has issued a subpoena to social networking site Twitter in order to learn the who, what, where, and when of anybody connected to Wikileaks. Wikileaks is the Sweden-based information repository that released 250,000 classified diplomatic cables for public inspection, causing a reviled reaction among politicians, but less so among the people who put them into politics.
Charges have not been filed, but the U.S. Government has all the time in the world to prosecute a protracted and personality damaging case when it has a mind to. “It” has too often become a powerful Washington cabal out of touch with its own citizenry. So far, the “who” includes Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and an Icelandic MP, Birgitta Jonsdottir, who has admitted to helping produce a controversial Wikileaks video.
The District Court is seeking all names, addresses, connection records, telephone numbers and any monetary transaction information it can get out of Titter.
This puts Twitter in a serious predicament, because the San Francisco based Twitter has stressed compliancy with local laws, on the one hand, leading to the tracking of criminals, but they also consider themselves serious proponents of free speech, where even people in politically oppressed nations like Iran can participate in the free exchange of ideas. Should Twitter comply with the subpoena, will it have lost credibility with its users as a service that allows them to speak freely?
I think Twitter will be negatively affected by naming names in this latest McCarthy-esque phase of American politics. We are seeing a serious degradation in what used to be called a “free society.” Now we cannot even call ours a free society without a note of sarcasm. On the one hand we are free to criticize the repressed puppet states like Iran, or the Stone Age blasphemy laws of Pakistan, but on the other hand we wistfully resign ourselves to Patriot Laws, censorship, and pseudo nationalistic gobbledygook disguised as national security, but is really a progressive and incremental erosion of freedom that we have become complacently accustomed to.
Such erosion has taken place on two fronts in this country, from an upper Federal position, and at the state level. One of my disappointments of being a reporter in Massachusetts was that the Commonwealth struck down a shield law, which would give newspaper reporters protection of their sources in cases where the reporter promised anonymity in exchange for information relative to sensitive stories. An anonymous source might be considered, for example, where the subject of investigative journalism might conceivably seek retribution against a witness or tipper.
I have actually used source protection in two stories. Under Massachusetts law, I might have been subpoenaed to produce the source of my information. I remember one photographer telling me, “Greg, if the state put you on trial, the newspaper owners wouldn’t stand behind you.” That put me in a tough spot, because I did not have the financial resources to withstand a legal case. One of the subjects of my story was a wealthy land owner, who threatened to bring me to court if I didn’t tell him who gave me the information that he was renting land to an atomic power company in his town. Not only that, but it was my very first newspaper story! That incident almost shattered my ambitions to write investigative journalism, but I resolved to stand up to it. In that story, conditions resolved themselves in other ways, so I was never sued.
In another case, my editor told me he was generally against anonymous sources unless there was a really good reason. There was one other time, I remember, when I should have invoked anonymity, but didn’t. In that case a local man owned a dog, a pit bull that had already been implicated in a number of dog maulings, and also one elderly woman. The last straw was when the pit bull mauled to death a dog in a neighboring town, and I included the name of a witness, quite not intending to put her on the spot. She called me up later rather angry to see her name in my story.
Massachusetts is a dangerous place to be an open and honest reporter. It has a common law that the reporter may use to protect his sources, but it is considered gapped and ambiguous, because Massachusetts courts have not defined exactly who is covered. Most reporters don’t make a lot of money. It is double jeopardy when they don’t know if the newspaper they are writing for will support them when their professional ethic says “protect the witness,” but the judge orders them to reveal the source.
Out on bail, but in a house arrest in England, Assange denounced the court order as harassment, which I think most of us are able to see it as. Assange put the shoe on the other foot when he proposed what would happen if the Iranian government tried to coerce information from journalists and activists of foreign nations.
“Human rights groups around the world would speak out,” Assange said in a statement.
At first the court had ordered Twitter to keep the subpoena secret. The same court later reversed the secrecy order, allowing Twitter to disclose the subpoena to the public.
Twitter – New Kid on the Social Networking Block
What is Twitter? A popular service with social networking, instant messaging and micro-blogging features, Twitter is still misunderstood by many people. A personal blog can keep people informed on what is going on in your life, but not everyone wants to spend an hour crafting a beautiful post about the vibrant colors seen on a butterfly spotted in the front time. Twitter – How To Get More Twitter Followers
As you probably know by now, Twitter is one of the biggest Social Media sites on the Internet and is only going to get bigger.
Many
people who have started their accounts early already have thousands and
hundreds of thousands followers and you don’t have to be a celebrity to
get thousands of followers of your own.
For whatever reason you
are online, business, finding friends, joining hobby groups, or
starting a new non-profit organization, Twitter is one of the fastest
ways to find others that share your same interests.
You might
think that only big name celebrities can get thousands of followers,
but the truth is that just about anyone that knows some of the inside
tricks to getting people to respond to Tweets, can have a huge group of
followers in a very short period of time.
One of the quickest ways to get followers is to look for people that state in their profiles that they “follow back”.
Following
people that will follow back means that you will be growing your list
as fast as you can follow people. Of course, you need to give them time
to see that you are following them and they can get back to you.
Another
fast way to get lots of followers is to participate in a Twitter
tradition on Fridays which is called “Followback Friday”. On Fridays,
many people join in helping to spread the word about new followers by
mentioning them in a Tweet containing the tags #Follow and #FF.
Next
Friday, look for people that are Tweeting names of people using those
tags #Follow and #FF, and start following the people that participate.
Once you have some followers of your own, you can mention them in your
own FollowFriday Tweets. This is a fast way to get involved with people
that mention you to their lists of followers.

Tweet Adder Probably The Most Utilized Twitter Friend Adder +
Tweet Adder Probably The Most Utilized Twitter Friend Adder + Twitter Marketing And Advertising – Tweet Adder
So let’s proceed through a few of features of TweetAdder. First, it gives you the ability to follow people based on the content of their tweets, the content of their description in their profile, location, and you may even follow the followers of a particular twitter user. This also comes in very handy when looking for folks that are interested in the same stuff you’re interested in.
This software means that you can pick which individuals you would like to follow. You’ll find people by keyword used, bio, location or other user’s followers. I love this feature as you’ll be able to hand pick folks that have similar interests as you. This software also automates unfollowing people. They are people you followed but they didn’t follow you back. This is very important since you can only follow up to 2000 people before Twitter stops you, unless you will have over 2000 followers yourself.
Tweet Adder’s main function should be to bring people to your site! You will have an enormous leap in traffic as people check out your tweeted links. If you will find your sales haven’t budged, this tool is not the blame. Be sure you do not rely solely on gathering Followers to sell your product. Even when you personally send out every product announcement on Twitter people will still need to be dazzled by the product page itself. So make sure you spend the free time Tweet Adder leaves you polishing your site.
With dozens of screen shots and graphs showing Tweet Adder working, and so many consumers posting positive responses to the product, it appears that TweetAdder really does work and does do its job – getting more followers for your online business Twitter account. Soon, you’ll send messages out only to Eucalyptus-tree lovers inviting them to try your special soil without bothering with rose gardeners which have no real interest in your product. Tweet Adder appears to let you concentrate on selling your product, without wasting your time.
Twitter has progressed from a hyped startup to an indisputable social network. It is no surprise that program like Tweet Adder is coming has appeared within the marketplace. There’s a large interest in program to shorten the process of getting the Twitter followers – and Tweet Adder targets to fill that space with its arrival.
Tuenti Tramples on Twitter in Spain but Facebook Flamenco Shrouded
Tuenti Tramples on Twitter in Spain but Facebook Flamenco Shrouded in Mystery
Tuenti (roughly pronounced "twenty") is the talk of the town, well Spanish towns and cities at least. Big in Barcelona , massive in Madrid and vital in Valencia and Vigo , Tuenti.com is, according to the 2009 Google Zeitgeist, the third fastest rising topic or search of the year with Twitter itself a place behind in fourth. In fact only the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson and Facebook outperform the underdog from Spain .
Often referred to as a "Spanish Facebook", Tuenti is essentially another social networking site, with many of the familiar tools and applications one would expect from such an application. However, finding out any more is pretty difficult, as it's primarily aimed at the Spanish population and it's also an invitation only party. Visiting the site's homepage you are greeted with a sky blue and fairly standard "Log in" page but unlike many other social networking sites there are no signs pointing to a "register here" area.
So unless you are one of the millions of Spanish users already enjoying Tuenti or you are privileged enough to have been invited in by someone, then for now at least some of the mystery will remain. Already three years in existence, there are apparently plans to expand the network but it remains committed to serving Spain first and foremost.
If you have your super sleuth hat on, you may discover the link to the Tuenti blog in the bottom right hand corner but if you don't speak Spanish, then you will have to click the "translate" button if you want to delve deeper into things unknown and uncover exclusive information about Google's third hottest property this year!
Perhaps, if I write about it very nicely and promise to learn the Spanish language, someone will be kind enough to invite me into the inner circle known as Tuenti?

Top 7 Reasons Why Your Small Business Should Use Twitter
Top 7 Reasons Why Your Small Business Should Use Twitter
In the real estate industry, there’s that one word that is the most important thing in selling a house, “location, location, location”. Same goes for bulk vending, the location you put your machines is equally important to your business cash flow. Being able to locate the perfect place for your machine yourself is one of the greatest assets you can personally develop when you’re in this business.
For starters, there are 15 suggestions of places where you can put your gumball, candy, and/or toy vending machines:
1. Restaurants
2. Repair shops
3. Clinics (of any kind)
4. Hair salons
5. Farm supply stores
6. Oil change and lube stores
7. Auto parts supply stores
8. Trucking companies
9. Car washes
10. Car dealerships
11. Salvage yards
12. Hardware stores
13. Tanning salons
14. Day cares
15. Lumber companies
Remember that a good location for your machines doesn’t always necessarily mean that it’s a place that can produce a lot of traffic. High traffic areas give you a higher probability of getting sales but there are always problems that you can run into with high traffic areas. This includes a higher competition from other vending operators which can bring down your sales. One of the things that decrease the value of a location is a high level of competition. This explains why the list of location suggestions above doesn’t necessarily include the best places in every given city. If your machines are one of six or eight others on site, you may only get average or below average results from the location. This may be good enough to retain the account but do keep in mind the saying, “there’s more fish in the pond.”
Go to places where other vendors don’t go. This includes other cities as well as other types of accounts. Don’t be afraid to experiment with non-traditional places to put your machines, just as long as the location seems safe for the machine. It only takes one employee to support a bulk vending machine. There’s no need to worry about your employees.
There are accounts where one person can spend twenty dollars a month. It’s your job to find that one person where no other competitor has thought to put their vending machines in that location.
In the experience of one businessman, his advice for finding secure locations for your vending machines is that for every ten machines, six machines will produce average results and will be good “bread-and-butter” accounts. Two machines will have poor results and will have to be relocated. Two machines will have excellent results and will not need for you to find even more accounts. After location over 100 machines in the last year, these numbers above have held up accurately. These numbers have also stayed consistent over the five-year period that the businessman had been involved in this business.
In many ways, vending is a numbers game. Be encouraged and motivated in your efforts to secure new locations. Your next account may be that incredible account that will put $100 in your pocket every time you collect.
